Gifted and Talented

What My GT Program Means to Me, by Hackett 5th grader:

End of the Year Questionaire

Hackett Elementary students in Gifted and Talented Education classes partnered with the HOPE Animal Shelter this semester.  Students had a dog house design contest; collected over 100 items of dog and cat supplies; made blankets; and wrote a book about dog breeds.  Two of the student's dog house designs were chosen to be built by community volunteers.  The GT students recently presented the dog houses, blankets, donations and book to animal shelter directors.

The GT Department would like to thank Johnny Harp and his students; and Edwards Construction of Fort Smith for building the winning dog houses for us to donate to the animal shelter.
