National School Lunch Program

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946.

The Hackett School District offers a nutritious school breakfast and lunch to students at a minimal cost.

Free/Reduced Lunch

We encourage all parents to apply for Free/Reduced lunch.  Applications are given to students at the beginning of each year and are available in the elementary, high school and superintendent’s office. Only one application per household is needed.
